Listening. Understanding. Empowering.
Children, adolescents, and their caregivers are at the center of our work – we listen openly and without judgment.
Practice opening in January – appointments available now.
Our team of medical and therapeutic professionals work together to provide the best possible support for children and adolescents.
Together, we plan the next steps, involve family, school, and the surrounding environment, and explain our suggestions in a clear way. We follow guidelines and provide therapeutic treatment, including medication if necessary.

I am Dr. Antje Koulechov and I am a child psychiatrist. My professional career began in pediatrics, where I cared for children with physical illnesses (such as asthma or obesity). It became clear to me how crucial mental well-being is for a child's health. In order to do more for children, I switched from pediatrics to child andadolescent psychiatry.
My career has included inpatient work at a child and adolescent psychiatric clinic in Lübeck, inpatient and outpatient work at several KJP Vitos clinics in the Rhine-Main area, and outpatient work at a large social psychiatric practice (SPV). Today, I bring this clinical expertise to our own child and adolescent psychiatry practice. Having lived abroad for a long time myself, English-speaking families are very welcome here. In our work, I rely on a strong interdisciplinary team. We are convinced that we must listen to the child and understand them in their entire environment.

The child and adolescent psychiatry practice at Brunnencenter Bad Vilbel Dr. Antje Koulechov: We are your local child psychiatrist. The practice is conveniently located in the Brunnencenter Bad Vilbel and is very easy to reach. The journey is uncomplicated.
The location is ideal for families from the Wetterau and Rhine-Main areas. Whether you are coming from Frankfurt (27 min.), Karben (8 min.), or Bad Homburg (26 min.), you can reach us quickly. Butzbach, where the regional outpatient clinic for child and adolescent psychiatry of the University Hospital Marburg is located, is also only 25 minutes away. Thanks to the excellent location of Bad Vilbel and Dortelweil, you can easily avoid the most notorious bottlenecks and traffic jams.
You can park stress-free and free of charge in the underground garage and take the barrier-free elevator directly up to us.
The practice can be accessed via a separate side entrance to the shopping center. This guarantees discretion and protects your privacy. The rooms are bright and friendly, so that children feel comfortable. During appointments such as your child's diagnosis, you can run errands in the Brunnencenter or wait in a café. This makes child psychiatry accessible, friendly, and "barrier-free."

Many parents come to us with the question: "When should a child see a child psychiatrist?" There are often warning signs: Is your child withdrawn? Do they seem constantly sad or anxious? Are there problems at school, such as restlessness and concentration difficulties, which could indicate ADHD? We are also the right point of contact for depression, anxiety disorders, or severe psychological stress.
A child psychiatristis a specialist who has studied human medicine. Our job is to provide medical diagnosis and treatment. First, we determine whether symptoms have physical or psychological causes. We conduct interviews, examine the child, and coordinate assistance. Child psychiatrists also have the option of prescribing medication if necessary and closely monitoring its effects and side effects. ADHD can serve as an example here: different medications have different effects on individual children, and the correct dosage can also vary greatly from person to person.

We are often asked about the difference between child psychiatrists and child psychologists. In our social psychiatric practice, both professional groups work on an equal footing and hand in hand under one roof. Their skills complement each other:
While the doctor's assessment covers the medical basics, a child psychologist has the expertise needed for detailed diagnostic work and therapeutic support. What does a child psychologist do in our practice? They carry out differentiated examinations, such as intelligence tests, concentration tests, or diagnostics in cases of suspected dyscalculia or reading and spelling disorders (dyslexia or LRS). Above all, however, they provide therapeutic support to children, e.g., using behavioral therapy approaches, helping them to talk about their worries, and working together to develop solutions for everyday life. The advantage for you as parents is that you receive medical clarification, psychological diagnostics, and therapeutic counseling in one place, without having to visit different experts individually.
